The title may not be the most articulate

Basically my point is can anyone remember a time when the bad teams were so terrible. Glen Davis as a first option on the Magic is a good example - the mind boggles at how there is a similar case at up to 10 current squads.

IMO this is due to the 'big three mentality'. Guys like Gasol, Bosh and Howard who would usually prop up three franchises are far more happy to take lesser roles and defer to other teammates. With this trend continuing are we going to see the gap between the super teams and the rest continue to widen - even given the point of the last lockout was to lessen it?

The thunder build from the draft and made good trades and didn't have to sign superstar FA. They went to the finals next year. I think Houston and Portland are looking to do the same too (they will need a superstar player though).

I think that in time, it will balance each other out.

The east is weak but the west is stacked.

Nah there were some disgusting times in the 2000s, especially in the East...

The 80's were worse. It only looks bad because of expansion, there should definitely be at least four less teams in the NBA.
