I am not going to deny the fact that there is a chance that Love rises to the occasion and performs. However, there are plenty of young players who came up on bad teams that went from sugar to shit as the team got better. Why? Because the level of play and expectations went up a notch.

Re: Are we still expecting Griffin to become a Franchise Player
And if Blake Griffin is good enough to already be the second best player on a championship team then so is Zach Randolph, Josh Smith, Al Horford, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Tim Duncan.

Re: Are we still expecting Griffin to become a Franchise Player
And? I agree with the above statement, actually. On a properly constructed team, all of those guys could be the 2nd best player on a competing team. All of those guys, sans Aldridge, have been on perennial playoff teams.

If you agree with the above statement then I don't have a problem with what you're saying. I don't really agree with you in most of those cases, but if you're recognizing that Blake isn't better than those guys then whatever.

He may be better than some of them, but they are all on the same tier to me.

As for the first part of this statement, I didn't say Love had a Lebron James like impact, but he definitely has had an impact on the team. You just look at the talent on this team and across the board it's awful. Love is a PF with incredible rebounding abilities and great offensive abilities as well. There's only so much someone with those abilities can do for a team. When you score 50 points and your team still loses the game, that alone says that the talent on the team is horrible, even if one of the players in that game ended up getting a triple double.

See people are playing that Pistons card with "properly constructed" but that's an anomaly. That doesn't happen. A couple of people on that list have been the second best player already and were just a tough playoff appetizer to a contender.

Re: Are we still expecting Griffin to become a Franchise Player
I'll pick Love over Griffin because Love is a better rebounder, better shooter, better passer, and can score in the low post. Its still early for Griffin, however, I just can't see dude developing any low post moves or a consistent jumpshot. I hope he proves me wrong.

Re: Are we still expecting Griffin to become a Franchise Player
I remember people here saying he was better than prime Shawn Kemp in his rookie year.
