I mean hey, Nash and possibly Kobe will be gone, Gasol will be on the downswing, and its the Lakers, so why no just gift them a star. Its what happens.

By the time Kyrie can get to LA, Howard will be a shell of himself.

Re: 5 years from today the best PG will be?
Unless Irving signs a QO after his fourth season there's no way he's a free agent in less than five or six years. (And given his history with injuries I don't think there's any way he doesn't sign an extension the first possible moment). So not only is Howard no longer Superman, I doubt D'Antoni's even there.

Rose is the best point guard alive and if he comes back healthy it will probably be him. Paul, if he can stay healthy, and Irving/Rubio will probably be in the conversation. Maybe Westbrook too.

Re: 5 years from today the best PG will be?
They can match any offer he gets as an RFA, but as I indicated I doubt there's any chance he even reaches restricted free agency. I expect that he'll sign that early over-max extension and pocket the money. So he won't hit unrestricted free agency until after his 7th or 8th year. Which, re-reading the thread, was Memphis' point. In five or six years Superman won't be.

Re: 5 years from today the best PG will be?
Its easy to put up numbers on a bad team. I like guys with playoff experience.
I pick Jrue Holiday or Eric Bledsoe. Jrue is so much younger and already in control of the team. Clippers have to make a decision on Bledsoe and some team may want to pay him more. Funny how John Wall is no where on the list ?? LOL |
