The best perimeter defender
To enter the league since the artist formerly known as Artest.
![]() Seems like this year his added confidence has translated on both ends of the floor. He knows he owns about 90% of the backup PGs in this league and picks them up right at half court. There he hounds them to turn their back to the basket. His combination of physicality, quick feet and excellent hands allows him to outright strip them a couple times a game, and at the very least he makes them waste a bunch of time off the shot clock. Against the Spurs just now he was molesting Neal so much that Poppovich pulled Neal and Manu to the side and told Manu he needed to bring the ball up the court. He's also a monster roaming the passing lanes, and against the Heat I was present in staples when he blocked the shit out of Wade's dunk. If someone that knows where to get those +/- stats, find out what the Clippers number is when Crawford and Bledsoe play together. They are both good enough to carry any bench unit on their respective sides of the court. Crawford with his one-on-one isos and Bledsoe by disrupting the PG. No way the Clippers can afford to keep him (no NOFX, they can't). Unless Paul walks of course.

re: The best perimeter defender
This is why they didn't want to include him in the Chris Paul trade.

Iman Shumpert is a better on ball defender.

Hope the Clippers just move Bledsoe to SG full time so he can start he is strong an atletic enough to guard most 2s and 3s in the NBA.

re: The best perimeter defender
I like Bledsoe, Bradley's still better though (at least defensively).

Re: The best perimeter defender
In retrospect they should have just taken the guards and ignored the pick.

Re: The best perimeter defender
The league office wanted the Clippers to give up everything. The reason it took so long is that the Clippers didn't want to give up everything. Bledsoe has really improved over the off season, that much is really clear. I don't think he played a very significant role on the Clippers until the very end of last season and he never seemed to understand exactly what he was doing. Rather incredible how much he and Jordan have improved.

Re: The best perimeter defender
Clippers probably would of done that since Bledsoe was the 5th guard behind Paul, Billups, Williams and Foye and again, the clips won't be able to afford Bledsoe. Now they got Austin Rivers with the pick, and no disrespect to him but I think I would take Bledsoe over every guard in this past draft.

Re: The best perimeter defender
He was also someone I was hoping would slip to Boston. But Bradley was a nice consolation. Those two guys would seriously be the best defensive backcourt in of the last 20 years if you could team then up.

Re: The best perimeter defender
Bledsoe is hell on the ball. Makes those pseudo-PGs unplayable. If you come into a game with one of them as your primary backup, your starter will be playing 45+ minutes and they are going to wear his ass down. This is how the Clippers really got to Memphis. They wore down Mike Conley and the Grizz had zero as a backup. Bledsoe wouldn't even let Mayo bring the ball up the court. It was an incredible thing to watch.
