(Andrew) Bynum is just...different
.
. . John Celestand can't think of what to say when questioned about Andrew Bynum and him running his mouth. Reporters have to love a guy like Bynum...always good for a quote. http://www.csnphilly.com/basketball-...349&feedID=704

Re: (Andrew) Bynum is just...different
It wasn't the bowling. The first half-speed practice he participates in is going to put more stress on his knees than bowling ever will. It's just having genetically deficient knees.

Re: (Andrew) Bynum is just...different
The bowling I'm sure made it worse, hence why I'm saying don't do it...

Re: (Andrew) Bynum is just...different
Bowling's one of the least "active" activities you can do, it's what makes it popular among the elderly/overweight/intoxicated. Hell, just going to a nightclub and dancing is worse on your joints. Unless you want the Sixers to wrap him in bubble wrap and store him in a closet between games, he's going to live a life and do things with his friends and family. Again, the problem wasn't that he went bowling, it's that his knees are bad enough that he has trouble with a normal day-to-day life.

I miss watching him play, but I feel like Enes Katner will soon satisfy my craving for manly low-post beasting. Unleash him Utah!!!

If you can't get through a game of bowling, I see no way you could play through a basketball season at the highest level.
Going to be REAL interesting to see what kind of contract this guy gets in the off-season

That's my view. If your knees are made of Fritos, and you're disappointing your new team by not having suited up once for them, you'd think you'd want to completely limit any physical activity that, just by chance, might set you back.

Re: (Andrew) Bynum is just...different
I understand what you're saying, but he didn't tear his knee up or anything while bowling, it's a structural deficiency caused by chronic weakness. If he didn't experience the pain while bowling, it would have been going up the stairs or picking up a kid/pet (does he have a kid? I thought I read that he has a kid). My point is that bowling is such a low-stress activity on the body/joints that it was an inevitable setback that wouldn't have been affected one way or the other by a night of bowling. Bowling just happened to be what he was doing when it happened.

Re: (Andrew) Bynum is just...different
Did anyone hear him say that Kobe stunted his growth as a player during his tenure as a Laker? I don't know how that is an accurate statement. Sure, Kobe has always had a little selfishness, but Kobe giving the ball to Bynum during double teams or when Bynum has an advantage over his opponent made Bynum a threat, and a star.
Edit-obviously he said it in the article. Mentioned on ESPN today as well. |

Re: (Andrew) Bynum is just...different
No question it made it easier for him to score at times, but I can see where he's coming from. Kobe has always been known as selfish with the ball, and a poor teammate. Knowing Bynum he probably mostly just means having such a high-scorer as a teammate limited his ability to spread his wings.
