Re: Opportunity in the NBA
OJ Mayo is a great example, Basel. That's actually who I had in mind when I was reading through this thread. Bledsoe is a good one too.
You know who is the ultimate "different situation" guy, Manu. It would have been very interesting to see him as the alpha dog on a team somewhere between 2005 and a few years ago.

Re: Opportunity in the NBA
May be right, but isn't it too early to put Drummond on this list? Additionally - McGee seems to be in a pretty good situation right now in Denver...

His #s also warrant it with TRB% of 20 (6th in the league), ORB% of 16.4 (2nd), DRB% of 23.7 (16th) and BLK% of 6.1 (8th). Just imagine what his stats will be with maybe 29-32mins of PT. ![]() Quote:

Re: Opportunity in the NBA
Tyreke Evans is another guy that doesn't necessarily need more of a green light, but a change of scenery would do wonders for that kid.

Re: Opportunity in the NBA
I honestly think Manu was in the best possible situation for himself, because I don't think having him as your #1 gets you any further than some pretty regular-season stats and a first-round exit(like we're seeing with Harden right now), to say nothing of his propensity to get injured.

Re: Opportunity in the NBA
Evan Turner is another prime example, a guy a lot of people (myself included) thought could put up big time numbers if given more of an opportunity. He's really killing it for the 76ers this year now that he's getting 36 minutes a night.

Re: Opportunity in the NBA
I'm not saying his reputation around the league would have been any better, Kobe and Wade (at least from '05 onwards) were going to be clearly better than him year in and year out. But it would have been kind of cool to see him as a number one option on a mediocre team for a season to see what he could have done with it.
