After receiving a PM of some players I forgot about who should at least be given a chance to be included for #2, I've decided to create this thread:

Moses Malone
Alex English
Mitch Richmond
Joe Johnson
Larry Johnson
Other (Specify)

Moses Malone wore No. 2 for nine seasons, but at least half of that time he was past his prime. Malone wore No. 2 in his prime in his first stint with Philadelphia from '82-'86; when he came back to Philadelphia in 1993-94 he wore No. 2, but he was way past his prime. Malone was still an effective player his first two seasons in Atlanta in '88-'90, but he was past his prime. In his final year in Atlanta in '91 was the start of a massive decline. That's not even counting his final NBA season in San Antonio (1994-95).

Malone wore No. 24 for his run in Houston (when he won two MVP awards) and wore No. 4 in his two-year stint in Washington. To me, those years constitute the bulk of Malone's prime.

So with that, I'm going with fellow hall of famer Alex English, who wore the No. 2 during his prime as the top scorer in the '80s and was an eight-time all-star.

If we are only counting the years the player wore the number in question, I suspect a lot of the voting would be different in these threads.

That was the point by the original poster -- you're only picking players based on the years they wore the number, not the totality of their careers.

I'd say they've gotten it right so far. Seems like the voting is consistent with how I intended this thread to be.

In future threads, I'll list the years the players wore those numbers to avoid any confusion as to what I'm doing.
