Best Player to Wear #7?
NOTE: You are voting for which player was the best at the time they were wearing the number, NOT for their entire career (assuming they wore more than one number).
Kevin Johnson - Phoenix Suns (89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 00) Toni Kukoc - Chicago Bulls (94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00), Philadelphia 76ers (00, 01), Atlanta Hawks (01, 02), Milwaukee Bucks (03, 04, 05, 06) Rashard Lewis - Seattle SuperSonics (99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07) Pete Maravich - New Orleans Jazz (76, 77, 78, 79), Utah Jazz (80) Jermaine O'Neal - Indiana Pacers (01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08), Miami Heat (09, 10), Boston Celtics (11, 12) Lamar Odom - Los Angeles Clippers (00, 01, 02, 03, 13), Miami Heat (04), Los Angeles Lakers (05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11), Dallas Mavericks (12) Brandon Roy - Portland Trail Blazers (07, 08, 09, 10, 11) Kelly Tripucka - Detroit Pistons (82, 83, 84, 85, 86), Utah Jazz (88), Charlotte Hornets (89, 90, 91) Other (Please Specify) 00/0 - Robert Parish 1 - Tracy McGrady 2 - Moses Malone 3 - Dwyane Wade 4 - Chris Webber 5 - Jason Kidd 6 - Bill Russell

Re: Best Player to Wear #7?
this one is a lot of meh - stellar careers ruined by injury: KJ, Roy other careers unfullfilled due to head and heart issues - need to ruminate on this Lamar had the most talent but...

Re: Best Player to Wear #7?
Pistol seems like the obvious choice, but I don't know. I think he had a very over-rated NBA career. He only wore #7 with the Jazz and he never once made the playoffs with that team. He might be a better choice for #44.
KJ had the longest run as a good player wearing #7, but he was never a superstar. Melo has only worn the number for a couple years but if we're talking about peak production he might actually be the best to wear it. JO and Roy were both great players as well. Tough one IMO. |

The only thing that needs to be said here in this thread:

Melo yes, Tiny no. Tiny peaked as No. 1. He was a shell of himself at 7

Re: Best Player to Wear #7?
Personally I always thought that KJ was better than Stockton. I'd say he was one of the most underrated players of all time. Never saw Maravich except on film, but I don't really think that there's a lot of substance to him relative to other great player. I'd sure as hell take him in a game of H-O-R-S-E.

Never watched him play, but looking at his stats, they're tops when he changed from 10 to 1.
