Elvin Hayes was pretty much a predecessor of Karl Malone -- classic power forward size, strong scorer, solid defender, very well conditioned and durable player. Like Malone, Hayes wasn't exactly the most well loved player among coaches and teammates.

But I have to go with Isiah Thomas. Zeke was the best ball-handler I ever saw, was a dynamic scorer, distributor and floor general and could carry a team when asked to perform in big games.

The fact that Isiah is winning here - and that despite multiple votes going against him for his post-#11 playing career - says plenty to me. I think Isiah has this one solidly. Maybe I'm being a homer, maybe its just his being fresher in my mind - but I'm going with his little man intensity and brilliance. The Bad Boys never happen without him.

From a Laker fan **** THAT GUY, from a basketball fan, what a player. The man could do it all and I hope I am not lynched for this by other Laker fans but if he was healthy in the game 7 in 88, the pistons would have 3 peated.
