Your All-Star Selections based on form.
So who should be in the All-Star game if we were talking about their season so far?
No people getting by on their name or race, I'm looking at you Lin. I guess it's obvious Lebron, Kobe, and Melo are shoe ins. But who else SHOULD be there? |

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
West Back Court: Kobe (lock), Westbrook (lock), Paul (lock), Parker (almost a lock), Harden (nearly a lock), Steph Curry (highly likely)
West Front Court: Durant (lock), Randolph (lock), Duncan (lock), Marc Gasol (almost a lock), Griffin (edges out Al Jefferson), David Lee (edges out Dwight Howard) East Back Court: Wade (lock), Rondo (lock), Deron (?), Jennings (?), Ellis (??), Paul George (???) East Front Court: Lebron (lock), Melo (lock), Garnett (lock), J-Smoove (almost a lock), Horford (almost a lock), Varejao (if he doesn't get screwed) I have no idea what to do with the East guards.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
He's shooting the best FG and 3P percentages of his career and averaging 21/5/4. He's still easily the best guard (with Rose hurt, of course) in the East.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
He would still make the all-star team in the West... just not as easily.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
Garnett is going to get voted in, but I might consider Bosh over him if not for that.
I'm pretty certain I prefer Griffin to Ibaka. Lee has been better offensively. Ibaka has been better defensively. Both are key contributors to one of the top teams in the West. I guess it comes down to the question of whether OKC should have 3 guys to Golden State's 1 or whether they should both have 2 guys each.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
It doesn't seem Griffin has done enough to warrant a pick over Ibaka. I believe I saw that Griffin has gotten statistically worse each year. His FT% is still garbage. Too many contributors on LAC. Where has Ibaka has improved essentially across the board. Career high PPG, RPG, FG%, FT%, extended range to three and still top 2-3 in BPG(3.0).
While Griffin is averaging a career low in PPG and RPG(basically where he earns his money), his FG% is down from last year, and he's taking less FTs which despite his % is an important part to his game as it puts his team in the penalty ASAP where guys like CP3, Crawford, Butler, Barnes can do damage. |

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
I don't care to argue about Griffin for the all star game, even though he's improved a lot so I haven't been beating him up this year. However I am going to bet that his raw numbers would be improved from last year on a per minute basis. The Clippers have pretty much the best bench in the league and I suspect that they've been on the right end of more ass whippings than anyone else. Griffin isn't playing as much as he did last year, he has not regressed. The opposite is true and he's gotten better in the ways that he needed to get better rather than in the box score metrics.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
Blake's per minute numbers are almost identical to last year's across the board, for whatever that's worth.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
I get yelled at whenever I say this, but the All-Star Game and the All-NBA Teams are two different things. Fans want to see Blake, and he's one of the bigger names in the league, so he's in.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
Same numbers for Blake, just better shooting. His rebounding NEEDS to improve. That said, its hard to argue when a guy improves his shot and defense in one offseason, so ill give him a break.

Re: Your All-Star Selections based on form.
There's going to be some very very unlucky West guards this year. Paul, Westbrook, Harden, Parker, Curry, Kobe all have to be on that team.
David Lee surely must be an All-Star this year, he has been a huge reason for Golden State's turnaround. Wish Bogut could get healthy so we could see those 2 together - 2 good passing bigs, one an offensive specialist and one a defensive specialist. Would be huge for Golden State i'd say.
