Rockets' offense makes history!
Is offense better than defense? The Rockets allowed the Warriors to rack up 109 points, yet the Rockets would still go on to blowout the Warriors 140 to 109.
What do you do when you play good defense, but your opponents play better offense? Nothing! There is nothing you can do against a superior offense but watch your opponent's lead go up and up. Yes, the Houston Rockets made history by tying the NBA's record for most three pointers made as they beat the Golden State Warriors 140 to 109, hitting 23 threes. Golden State Warriors had 109 points, which is among the highest amount of points that high offensively scoring teams average. However, 109 points was not enough points to stop a more superior offense. With more than enough time to break the three-point record, Mark Jackson ordered his teammates to flagrantly foul the Rockets as a way to prevent any extra embarrassment to suffer. I think this proves offense is better than defense! The Rockets gave up 109 points, but still won by a blowout! QUITE IMPRESSIVE! Great game Houston! This team is something special!

Re: Rockets' offense makes history!
They were lucky.
What Lin is hitting 3s at a .2 clip approx he just caught fire this game. They still need a legitimate 2nd option.

When was the last time a team won the championship without being a top ten defensive team?

Re: Rockets' offense makes history!
He didn't order a flagrant foul, but Mark Jackson was aware that the Rockets were one made 3pt from breaking an NBA record and didn't want them to break it in garbage time, so he told the Warriors to foul the shooters. Draymond Green fell for a pump fake trying to close down and foul a shooter and it turned into a clothesline.

Missed the game, but just saw the foul on the highlights, and that was no Flagrant two. Clearly he was caught in the air and reached out to foul him. It wasn't even a hard foul.

[QUOTE=l0st1;7213641]What?[/QUOTE}
Mark Jackson felt it was easier for his team to foul opposing players trying to or before the could attempt 3-point shots, rather than actually attempt to try and defend them. |

Re: Rockets' offense makes history!
Much credit to the Rockets for making history, but I do think they should have broken the record instead of just tying.
Kevin McHale should have used strategy, misdirection, or some form of deception to score one last three and break the tie. Mark Jackson outsmarted him. Bittersweet win for McHale if you ask me. : ) |

I thought lost said "what" because mark Jackson has no teammates and "he didn't want to cause extra embarrassment to suffer"

Re: Rockets' offense makes history!
I'm just saying, Houston travels to Golden State next week and it is a game that you guys should make a point to catch. Going to be very interesting.
Bottom line, Patrick Beverly drove the lane and showboated on a flashy dunk in garbage time. After that, he was fouled hard on his 3pt attempt (in which the rockets players yucked it up and celebrated). After the foul there was some minor confrontations between the two rosters. Mark Jackson then pulled a fantastic trolling job by having his players intentionally fouling the rockets for basically the last 2 minutes of the game.

Lets see where do I start. 140 points in a game is a rare thing these days in the NBA. Scoring under 100 points for most teams is a lot more common than scoring 110 points. So, please explain to me how one team scoring 140 against another team that had 109 points proves that offense is better than defense? That's not a consistent thing, great defense is a consistent thing, great offense isn't. The fact that you're trying to use a rare event as your evidence to support your claim is laughable. I could go on, but I want to hear what moronic thing you have to say.
