Yeah I'm not sure why the injury risk is being so defiantly ignored here. How many games is he averaging this double-digits over? Can't see a 50-year-old perimeter player staying healthy too long while inefficiently averaging double-figures.

Hold on, the quote says "score" double digits. I'll buy that. He could score 10 points in one game. Sasha Pavlovic even puts the ball in the basket sometimes. If he played on the Heat, worked hard on his 3-ball, and was on the floor with the big 3, he could use his smarts and (deteriorated) skill to get open enough to hit 3 threes and a pull-up 2 off a pump-faked-3 or something. Pop would be able to get him some good looks in the Spurs new juggernaut offense.

Don't believe me? Check out what Penny Hardaway did one game his last season in the league (Nov. 17, 2007, @NJ):

Yes, Penny was 36, and not 50, but he sure moved like he was 50 by that point. Also, that team was so much worse than it looked. Shaq was pretty much done, and even worse, mentally checked out. J-Will was done. Ricky Davis was Ricky Davis. Dwyane Wade came back too soon from knee surgery and had his worst season before shutting it down. I mean, the team went 15-67. I'm fairly confident a top-shape, 50-year-old Jordan could do what Penny did one night on a great team.

Kobe is not having Jordan's PPG because Kobe isnt selfish as Michael Jordan. He plays for the team where as Jordan played only for himself.

Semi-OT but not really why should he have to sell his team if he wants to play...he bought the team he should be able to do damn near whatever he wants

When and why was that rule instituted...as if Mark Cuban would shift the balance of power if he joined the Mavericks or some shit...I only wonder because most rules are reactive rather than proactive..what made that go into effect

I guess. The whole post was a bit mystifying though. Why enter a thread and contribute "who ****ing cares?" Not even sure exactly what he's referring too.

Well, I wasn't replying to you. I was replying to the topic. Maybe the D-Wade smiley made you think too hard.

There hasn't been a season since MJ retired that every sports network didn't try to make a big deal out of anything even slightly related to him. Even the fact that this thread was made annoys me.

Re: Jamison: "Jordan could still score double digits today"

Jordan should spend the next few months getting in shape, show up unannounced to a summer league game, spend fifteen minutes tooling up on some undrafted rookie out of the A-10, and then leave. I think he'd love the resultant media reaction.

It's a huge conflict of interest if the owner is also a player. Moreso to his teammates than that particular player himself. Probably the league trying to protect it's product.

Imagine how unstable the Lakers would of been if Kobe was the owner the last ten years?

Yea, I feel like it's more to prevent players from being given a piece of a franchise at a huge discount as additional compensation ("sign for $10 million a year less than you're worth and I'll sell you $40 million worth of the Knicks for $2 million") than to prevent an eccentric billionaire from lacing up.
