Dr. J

It is so crazy. He is very old now and its impossible to think that man could do some of the craziest dunks..

I'm going to ahead on my own poll and vote for Dr. J. He started the dunk, basicly, or at least gave it most of it's old-day fame. Michael Jordan is probably the best known "dunker" upon some fans, basicly because they weren't born back in the day of J's age (which I wasn't), but I've read in many sports magazines that Jordan was actually known best for his drive, not dunk.

Dr. J was far from inventing the dunk. Back in the 1951 Kentucky recruited a 7'1 center named "Bill Spivey". He was a huge dunker. He didn't give it much flash like Dr. J did, but he dunked a lot.

I don't mean to detract from Dr. J though. He still remains my favorite dunker of all time.

David Thompson.....
Where is the love... this guy could dunk like any of the good dunkers in the league right now....
he was the one who first pulled off the 360 windmill....in the 76 dunk comp... the one that T-Mac and Vince do where they bring it down to their knees and 360 it...
He was only 6'3 and pulled off some of the craziest in game stuff of all time... there are stories of how he would literally jump right over guys and dunk on them... when you think about how much respect Steve Francis gets you have to wonder why people don't give the that or more to this guy... cause honestly Franchise probably can't pull off half the dunks that D-thompson did..
