Why do the Spurs need another player like Casspi?

Casspi seems like the sort of guy who goes to the Spurs and suddenly looks like a great roleplayer. Not sure that Blair helps Cleveland much, but he probably gets minutes and drives up his market value some.

Anyone want to make bets on what sort of dumbass trade PHX makes. It seems like every rumor your hear about them makes you pause and wonder what they think they are trying to accomplish. It's like they have made a commitment to mediocrity and keep looking for some random guy to make them more mediocre.

Perkins would certainly make them more mediocre. No question. He would be a perfect addition.

yep exactly. Popovic is well known for making players like that look better , its a move that can save Casspi's career in the NBA , he can fill a role similar to Jackson , deffensive energetic SF that drills open 3p's , looking forword to seeing if this happens , I love it for Casspi. he also fits the half euro team spurs have going on.

How does the OKC trade keep them mediocre? If it's the TOR pick(which it absolutely should be) it would a great return on an unhappy player that clearly doesn't fit with our team. Though I LOVE PJ Tucker, it's an acceptable loss. Lamb at the very least is a bit of potential, and the pick is guaranteed lottery. If we can manage to keep some semblance of cap space while absorbing Perkins then do it.

This is a lost season and I'd hope it wouldn't be the only move we make. Though I agree some of the other rumors about us are very questionable. I think it's obvious the front office want star power regardless of if it makes sense or not. They want somebody that can sell tickets for this bad team. Gordon(when healthy), Gay, JSmoove, etc all can do that.
