When do you go for 72-10?

Bulls wouldn't win 70 today, especially not with the demographics of the league. There are way more teams equipped to deal with the SG-SF dominance of the Bulls (Thunder, Heat to name a couple). The league is rich with athletic wings now. The 90's Bulls had the luxury of having arguably the two best wing players in basketball, and that was the weakest position in the 90's. Teams were simply not equipped to deal with them.

Rich with athletic wings is not the same as rich with good wings... Lebron and Durant are obviously great players and would challenge any player historically, but the league is not discernibly more talented on the perimeter than it was then from what I can tell. Also, the Heat would get killed on the boards by the Bulls team. Hell, the D-Rose Bulls have won 62 games (and on a 62 win pace during the shortened season) in the current NBA and they don't even begin to approach the stratosphere that the 72 win Bulls occupied. It wasn't just having MJ and Pippen... it was also Rodman, Kukoc, a brilliant coach and a role player to fit every role imagined.

Let's not forget the mental games too. Some teams expected to lose to the Bulls just because they were the Bulls. It's like going into the ring against Mike Tyson. Some of us would just expect to get knocked out -even if we possibly could win.

You're right because Tyson is older now, just like many people can now defeat Jordan do to his age. Not a bad proposition! Also, from my understanding, just willing to get into the ring alone grants a certain amount of cash, whether I win or lose. I heard boxers do this all the time for easy cash. I guess money does grow on trees.

Well, really, it was your claim that the league was better now, so your burden of proof. But I guess I do disagree... if anything, I think there is a relative dearth of good SGs in the NBA right now... and at SF, hell, I just watched Luol Deng make the last two all-star games in the East.
