Irrepeatable players...
Please list the players you think were once-in-a-life-time ballers... The kind that we will probably not see again...
I'll start with some easy ones:
1- Wilton Chamberlain: not only is scoring and rebounding records will remain forever intact, he was the only Center till this date to lead the league in total rebounds for a season...
2- Oscar Robertson: No one will ever again average a triple-double for the season... No one.
Your thoughts?

Re: Irrepeatable players...
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Because no one is going to be able to dominate that much for that long with just only one move, sure he did other moves, but the reasen he was dominant was the sky-hook.

Re: Irrepeatable players...
i agree with your choices, but you are wrong about Wilt
the following centers have lead the league in rebs since Wilt started:
Dikembe Mutombo
Dave Robinson
Hakeem Olajuwan
Bill Laimbeer
Moses Malone
Sven Nater
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Bob McAdoo
'Pistol' Pete Maravich: His combination of off-court and on-court flair, coupled with his superstar status (he was paid $1Mill his rookie contract) and his personal charisma made his persona an unforgetable one. RIP

Re: Irrepeatable players...
the greatest shotblocker in league history - manute bol. of players who have played a minimum of 200 nba games, manute holds a 48% lead over his closest competitor, in terms of blocks per 48 minutes. that's only since the block has been kept as an official stat. there's noone in any other category in league history as freakish as manute.

Baylor then Hawkins then Doc then Jordan then Kobe... Nope, Jordan doesn't belong in this thread...
And before you come up with the old "here is that lunatic portuguese hating on Jordan again", let me add that there are a great number of players i loved who also don't belong in this thread... Guys like Rodman (Wallace), Tom Chambers (Dirk), KJ (Timmy), Moses (Shaq), etc., etc...
Pistol was a nice call...
I'd like to add Charles Barkley. When will we ever see again a player with his height dominate the oposition so stongly?
