Re: Scottie Pippen (93-94) Vs. Tracy McGrady (02-03)
Pretty close. As I've mentioned before, I think Pippen, Drexler, Bryant and McGrady are all remarkably similar talents with similar styles, but different areas of greatness.
Overall, I'd probably take Pippen, slightly, over McGrady. Hard to describe exactly why, as their overall games are so close in value.

Re: Scottie Pippen (93-94) Vs. Tracy McGrady (02-03)
Pretty close. That McGrady's best year of his career (so far). He led a pretty bad roster to the playoffs, and took a lower seed to a 3-1 lead against the top seed Pistons.
McGrady had a PER of over 30 that year, which very few players have been able to do. Even Kobe and LeBron were only at around 28 this year.
In these particular years, I would probably take McGrady. Pippen had more years where he performed like he did in 1993-1994, where 2002-2003 has been an outstanding season for McGrady, and not the norm.

Re: Scottie Pippen (93-94) Vs. Tracy McGrady (02-03)
I don't see why Pippen would ever excel in a McGrady/Kobe/Lebron type role for every game, so McGrady. On the other hand, McGrady (and anyone else) wouldn't have excelled in Pippen's place nearly so well.

Re: Scottie Pippen (93-94) Vs. Tracy McGrady (02-03)
I think Scottie and TMac are fairly close in ability as well, but TMac's 02-03 season was one of the greatest offensive seasons of all time. 32/7/6 with a TS% of 56 and a PER of over 30.
Scottie was a much better defender, and for their careers I'd likely take Scottie, but that season TMac was ridiculous.
The Magic won 42 games that year. Yes, the East was weak. Now look at this roster:
TMac (75 games) - 32/7/6, PER of 30, blah blah
Mike Miller - 49 games for the Magic, traded midseason, avged 16/6 on poor shooting
Drew Gooden - rookie, 19 games for the Magic, acquired midseason, avged 14/8
Gordon Giricek - 27 games for the Magic, acquired midseason, avged 14/5
Grant Hill - 29 games for the Magic, avged 15/7/4 in those games
Pat Garrity - 81 games, avged 11/4
Darrell Armstrong - 82 games, avged 9/4/4
Shawn Kemp - 79 games, avged 7/6 on terrible shooting
So besides TMac, the only significant players who played anywhere close to a full season for this team were Pat Garrity, Darrell Armstrong, and the artist formerly known as Shawn Kemp. The rest was a revolving door cast of injuries and trades. I'm sorry but teams just don't win 42 games with that sort of roster turnover. It just doesn't happen. TMac was ridiculous.
And I'm certainly not trying to discredit Scottie's 94 season. One of my favorite seasons of all time from one of my favorite players of all time. And I hear that Bulls team overcame a little roster turnover of its own to win 55 games (though with a better cast). I just think people don't appreciate how special TMac's 03 season really was.

Re: Scottie Pippen (93-94) Vs. Tracy McGrady (02-03)
32/6/6/2 to me > 22/9/6. If T-mac/Pip switch places, I really can't imagine that awful Magic making the playoffs. But I can see the Bulls still being a great team.
T-Mac's 02-03 season was special. He put up the highest ppg since MJ in 92-93. And this was all prior to the rule changes that took place after 03-04.

Pip for sure and oh who has the championships? and they wouldnt of done that with out pippen being next to jordan. jordan didnt do it all on his own. pippen isnt in the top 50 players of all time for no reason. TMac is a great player dont get me wrong but he hasnt brought his team to a championship yet and he didnt put up the same numbers as scottie
