Yeah, he was killer that year (I think his PER was 30.3 or something. Ridiculous). Mind you, this was before the rule changes that let virtually anyone go to the line 10 times a game were in effect (which is why I think PERs for a lot of the star perimeter players is going up).
Sadly, it seems more and more like a blip considering his production the last few years, though there are times where I think he can perform like that again for a full season. In 2004, Orlando was the pits so his effort level came down, the next year, he had to adjust to going to Houston and meshing with Yao. He got off to a slow start, but gradually played better (had an incredible playoffs, too). This last year, he was hobbled by back injuries.
