List of no-name players to score 50 points in a game

I'll start it off with a few names off the top of my head.

Willie Burton
Tony Delk
Tracey Murray
Cedric Ceballos

Cedric was a pretty good player. He was especially good as a Laker in the mid 90's. Well above average scorer and offensive player.

Yeah, I wouldn't call Ceballos a no-name, unless all non-Hall of Famers are no-names. He was an All-Star in his prime.

Re: List of no-name players to score 50 points in a game

Allan Houston's done it at least twice, though he's not a no-name, really.
Damon Stoudemire, although he's in the same boat.
Clifford Robinson.
Mahmoud-Abdul Rauf.
Dana Barros.
Nick Anderson.
Charles Smith. (the one who spent a few years on the clippers)
Vernon Maxwell.
Michael Adams (who had one brilliant year then tapered off)

Very few of these guys were just "nobodies." Most of the were above average players but not quite All-Stars who just exploded for one night.

Re: List of no-name players to score 50 points in a game

Just for fun, how about the list of non-All Stars (or at least non repeat All-Stars to cover Ceballos) who ever went for 30 rebounds or 20 assists:

30 Rebounds (since 1988 from Basketball-Reference.com)
Rony Seikaly
Kevin Willis (twice)
Michael Cage

Note: if you drop the bar a bit, some serious stiffs have gone for 26 including Erick Dampier, Ervin Johnson, Charles Shackleford, and Lorenzen Wright

20 Assists
Scott Skiles (1st all-time with 30!, plus 3 other times over 20)
Jamaal Tinsley
George McCloud (not even a PG)
Robert Pack
Gary Grant (four times!)
Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

Kevin Willis used to be a VERY good player, one of the leaders in rebounding year after year during the 90's. As I understand it, if his arms were the same length (they were a bit off), he probably would have been an elite player. I have no idea why that makes sense, but I heard it somewhere.

Vernon Maxwell was the first one that came to my head.
Also Kevin Willis was a beast!

His arms weren't a bit off, he looked like a t-rex! 7 foot guy, 6 foot arms. Not exactly, but his wingspan was extremely small.

Oh yeah, Tony Delk went off for 50+ without making one 3 pointer. 53 points on 20 of 27 and 13 of 15 from the line.
