T-mac's 30+ PER season sticks out like a sore thumb: he's never in any other season even got close to reaching that number again. The combined highest PER of his other best 3 seasons is 25.

It's his career high, but fairly explainable. That was his peak and then back injuries slowed him. Without back injuries, he probably would have had another couple seasons in that vicinity.

Plus, did I mention he has the 11th best career PER?

I suspect you're being facetious,but it's silly to compare the career PER's of an active player in his prime to a retired player.McGrady should be in his prime,most other players on that list had careers in which their productivity declined over the course of time.Of course he's still one of a handful of players to post a plus thirty PER,but all those other guys did it several times.

Still, I think he's underrated (for his career coming into this season...I suspect his statistics are about to fall rather hard).
