Best franchises in the NBA...

Who do you think are the best franchises in the NBA, history-considered?

Please rank them and explain...

I'm going number 30 the LA Clippers, number 29 the Bullets/Wizards . . . at least since 1975. Will rank up to the Celtics/Lakers at the top some other time.

Re: Best franchises in the NBA...

1) Boston, if a team can win 8 in a row or that is a franchise with a capital F. Also adding a couple in the 70's and 3 with Bird-Parish-McHale in the 80's. Thanks Red.

2) Even as much I like Lakers and CAP, they have to come in second. Wilt-West-Baylor, wins it all. Then Kareem and Magic-Worthy came along and got 5 rings in the 80's. It's showtime baby.

3) Jordan. Six rings in 6 years, nuff said.

¤) I will have to say utah jazz, few teams have been so consistant over 2 decades and never won it. Multiple 60+ seasons. Stockton to Malone for 18 years is good, throw in Eaton, Bailey, Bailey, AK-47, and I would say that tghe Jazz is my 4th best franchise because of consistency

Re: Best franchises in the NBA...

Look at all time winning percentage, that would be the best way to gauge them.

Re: Best franchises in the NBA...

the lakers or celtics, for obvious reasons. the celtics have more championships, but the lakers have the better overall winning %, and i think up until two years ago, they went to the finals every other year on average

Re: Best franchises in the NBA...

going by strictly what they have historically down and how they've gone in the playoffs I would rank them as follows:

Lakers
Celtics
Warriors
Pistons
Knicks
Spurs
Bucks
Suns
Blazers
Jazz

I hope your omission of the Bulls was accidental...

I guess I'll give it a try:

1) Celtics
2) Lakers
3) Bulls
4) Knicks
5) 76ers
