Stackhouse was considered just as selfish as Iverson and they both averaged 20+ that season. Hughes was an inconsistent rookie who could not be relied on nightly. Glen Robinson? What'd he play 2 games in Philly? Not to mention he was as over the hill as they came. See why he no longer has a job in this league. Again, look at his supporting casts. We'll see what he can do in Denver. I think he'll do great.

Re: Who is the most overated player ever in NBA history?
Karl Malone. His huge numbers were inflated by his durability, his perfect fit with Stockton and with Jerry Sloan, and by the fact his career coincided with a period during which the league allowed more physical play than it does now. In the playoffs, he came up against better big men like Olajuwon, Duncan, Garnett and Shaq and was exposed. Malone was a great player, but definitely a notch below those guys. It wasn't bad luck that Malone didn't win a championship. It was because he was a tremendously productive, durable and consistent regular season player but definitely not as talented as those other guys. People who count him as the greatest PF ever because of his numbers are overrating him.

Re: Who is the most overated player ever in NBA history?
Can't believe no one mentioned the most overrated player in NBA history, Bill Bradley (though he's been a mainly competetent Senator). This is a guy who averaged 12pts/3reb for his career . . . as a one dimensional low percentage shooter with absolutely zero rebounding and weak defense from the SF position. He had a total of one All-Star appearance which he got for averaging 16 ppg (easily his best) despite playing with probably the third best PG in NBA history. His coach used to pull him at crunch time for the more talented Cazzie Russell. And yet he is in the Hall of Fame and in the threads about the greatest SF of all time he gets an occasional mention! (and as for his college career, he was a gunner . . . at Princeton which isn't exactly big time competition . . . and he didn't lead them to NCAA championship games or anything like Larry Bird did at Indiana State)
He is the best argument for the people who claim that NBA and its fans are racist that I can remember since they broke the color barrier.

Ummmm... what about Fat-toine Walker? Just thinking about his shimmy shake gives me shivers. He has never worked hard for a whole game once. Employee #8? I understand why Adidas doesn't market him anymore.

Very hard to disagree with this post. However, it simply reiterates my point beforehand about how college achievements have gotten many of the older players into the HOF that normally wouldn't make it. A player like a Bill Bradley or Bill Walton wouldn't make it after their NBA careers went the way they did.

I wanted to say that this practice ceased recently, but it coincides with athletes' leaving college for the professional ranks. But players like Christian Laettner and Danny Ferry (who were both sissies, imo) couldn't get in the Hall if they bought a ticket.

Jason Kidd. A total stat padder. Go fight your teammate for that 10th rebound EDIT.
