Now that's an amazing highlight reel. No messing around there.
You know what's funny though? Stromile Swift could sport an even more impressive top 10 dunks countdown and yet he's done nothing in his career to compare to Kemps', whose career petered out (into fatty tissue).

I haven't seen a 6'10" PF that can run the floor, handle the ball coast to coast, and have guard-like body control like Shawn Kemp since... Shawn Kemp. Not even Amare.

The Reign Man
Shawn Kemp was the predecessor to the athletic power forward who could run in the open floor, such as Kevin Garnett, Chris Webber and Amare Stoudemire. He and Gary Payton were a fierce fast-break tandem -- GP used to throw the ball over his head in any general direction of the basket and Kemp would yank it out of the air and slam it with authority.
IMO, Kemp is one of the best in-game dunkers in the history of the NBA, along with Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Julius Erivng, Vince Carter and Clyde Drexler.
P.S. Of that mix, No. 7 is my favorite one where he went fullcourt on the Lakers, did a hesitation dribble and threw down that tomahawk. That was absolutely incredible, especially when you take into account this is a 6-foot-11 power forward doing it.

Where does Shawn Kemp rank in NBA History
First of all, the reason I'm opening another thread is because if I'd post in one of the other Kemp threads currently up it wouldn't get as much attention.
So where do you guys think Kemp ranks in history. I had this discussion with a friend the other day. We talked about Kemp and I thought he was/is overrated. In my opinion people are blended by his dunks and highlights.
People say he was one of the best power forwards, and off the top I can already think of Charles Barkley, Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman that rank higher than him in my opinion. I'll even go as far as to say that Amare Stoudemire is a better player than Kemp was in his prime, yet people talk about Kemp as an NBA legend, and I think it's just because of all his highlights, but since when does dunking make you a great player? If we start to judge a player's value by dunking than Vince Carter would be the best player ever and Stromile Swift would be a god.
Basically all I want is people talk a bit about Kemp and where he ranks in NBA history, that stuff above is just some stuff to get you guys started.
