Re: bbb best 30 players 5-10
Interesting vote compilations, so far. While Isiah was a special player (and I watched him a lot), no way would I put him above the Mailman or Duncan. And I still think Magic is at least a couple of spots too high.

What's with the Hakeem love?
Hakeem Olajuwon is one of my all-time favorite players, but even I would have to say he's being a little overvalued here. I can't make an argument that he is one of the 10 best players in NBA history, so on what basis can others? Just curious.

he was dominant on both sides of the ball, and arguably the greatest defensive force (besides russell) in league history. in terms of pure impact on the game, it's also hard to argue against him. he was a pretty complete package, although i'd argue that different parts of his game peaked at different points.

Plus the fact that he schooled other players who might deserve to be in the top 10.

I still put Shaq in front of him, despite Hakeem's dominance in the Finals sweep because they were at totally different points in their careers.

To each his own - I prefer Hakeem because he's more consistent and a more dominant defensive player. Besides man, the dream shake is just too cool :-P

his dominance over shaq is also overstated. shaq outrebounded him, outshot him from the field, outblocked him, outassisted him, and put up 28 ppg himself. shaq's line was 28, 12.5, 6.3. he of course missed alot of ft's, and turned the ball over alot. the biggest difference in the series was 6 more turnovers a game for the magic. hakeem had a monster series as well (32.8, 11.5, 5.5) but it just wasn't a one-sided drubbing like robinson.
