10 Greatest 76ers
Who were the 10 greatest Syracuse Nats/Philadephia 76ers of all time based SOLELY on what they accomplished on that team?
Off the top of my head:
Wilt
Moses
Erving
Arizin
Iverson
Greer
Schayes
Johnston
Cheeks
Bobby Jones

Re: 10 Greatest 76ers
Mutombo... DPOY and a Finals appearance? C'mon... He was only there for a few years but he was pretty significant. Who would you cut to give him a space, though... probably Schayes or Johnston.

Re: 10 Greatest 76ers
ouch, how did I forget Cunningham? (and, yeah, Deke probably should be in the mix but maybe not top 10 . . . he played for so many teams, I always think of him in Denver personally)

Re: 10 Greatest 76ers
1. Wilt
2. Moses
3. Erving
4. Arizin
5. Iverson
6. Cunningham
7. Greer
8. Schayes
9. Johnston
10. Cheeks
Barkley didn't really lead the Sixers anywhere when he was their dominant player, and didn't cement his HoF status until he hit Phoenix.
Bobby Jones was a great, great defender, but didn't excel at anything else and was probably the team's fifth most important player during their champion season.
I could make a case for bumping Cheeks for Mutombo, since the latter was the team's second most important player when Iverson led them to the Finals. But Mutombo's stint was pretty short, and Cheeks in a Sixers uniform was one of the league's best playmakers and perimeter defenders for most of a career.
