Re: 10 Greatest Magic
Good list, except clearly there are questions about Hill. I mean, he played well when he got on the floor, but he did play just 200 games over 7 seasons (less than 30 a season), while being a big deterrent to their cap space. So he probably did more harm than good...I'm sure neither Hill nor the Magic look back very fondly on his time there.

Re: 10 Greatest Magic
Yeah, ex-nay on Grant Hill being that high. He's a good guy, and I really like him, but he was a bust in Orlando, although probably one of the better players in O-town's brief history.
1. Shaquille O'Neal
2. Tracy McGrady
3. Penny Hardaway
4. Nick Anderson
5. Dwight Howard
6. Dennis Scott
7. Horace Grant
8. Darrell Armstrong
9. Grant Hill
10. Scott Skiles
Honorable Mention: Mike Miller, Terry Catledge, Pat Garrity (he sucks, but he's been around forever )

Re: 10 Greatest Magic
1. Shaquille O'Neal--no question, really
2. Tracy McGrady--didn't lead the Magic anywhere, but his supporting cast wasn't up to it and he was really really amazingly good for a couple of seasons
3. Anfernee Hardaway--not sure he really truly was ever on track to be the next Jordan, but it would've been fun to see him continue at a reasonably high level for longer
4. Dwight Howard--early, I know, but he's keeping the team afloat without much help and I'm not sure anyone belongs above him
5. Horace Grant--modest stats, but a really important part of that frontcourt with his defense and veteran intangibles
6. Dennis Scott--didn't do a lot, but mm-boy could he shoot sometimes
7. Scott Skiles--best real PG they've had, and belongs on the list if for no other reason than for having the walnuts to start a fistfight with Shaq
8. Terry Catledge--played his guts out for the team during the expansion days, frequently playing center at 6'6"
9. Nick Anderson--I don't hold those free throws against him
10. Grant Hill--well, hard to keep him off, especially since he was always one of my favorite players, but what a sad chapter...

Re: 10 Greatest Magic
Come on, Dwight Howard is already much much better than Nick Anderson ever was.

While I agree with this, I think it's fair to rank people's entire career with a franchise and reward guys who were there longer. You could do a different ranking that didn't reflect length of time spent with team (just how good they were when they were there) and get different results.
Anderson's the Magic's all-time leader in minutes, points, etc. Fair to put him above Howard for now, I think, depending on your ranking criteria.

i BEG TO DIFFER....Anderson has had 2 seasons where he averaged 20/6/4/2.....dwight has yet to average 20ppg, im not doubting he will, coz he will, but he hasnt, thats the difference, Nick Anderson played about 40 of his career playoff games with Orlando(and started every single one), D-Ho has played 4....Nick Anderson played about 700 games (10 seasons) with the Magic, D-Ho has played 3 seasons....Nick Anderson has had a 50 point game for the Magic, D-Ho hasnt...wen we are talkin bout the Magic, Nick Anderson was the heart and soul of that franchise for its first 10 years...

Re: 10 Greatest Magic
I don't think so. He played well there, but only spent a season and a half in Orlando.
