Re: If MJ comes back today......
the wiz jordan did have 2 of the least efficient scoring seasons of all time. '02 was particularly historic.

How did we all miss Larry Hughes, The Casv would definitely take MJ over Larry right now.

I won't change my original statement about "elite," though, because to me elite are the best. They are guys who, at their positions, are clearly superior.

Like I said initially, it depends on how you define "elite." To me, he was top 20 certainly in 2002, and top 25 in 2003. That's in the top 6-8% of the players in the NBA. But no, I agree that he wasn't top 10 in any of those seasons, nor was he the best at his position or for wing players in general.

Re: If MJ comes back today......
he would score 30 on Larry Hughes, while holding him to 2 points without even guarding him.

Kobe is not having Jordan's PPG because Kobe isnt selfish as Michael Jordan. He plays for the team where as Jordan played only for himself.

Yup. PER was 20.8 his first season with the Wiz (age 38), and 19.3 the 2nd and final season. Those are borderline All Star numbers. Certainly not bad for this age. Maybe a top 30 player.

Interesting.. I decided to look it up. Among players who have scored 20+ ppg in a season, Jordan's TS% in 01-02 ranks 1172 out of 1197. In the last 34 years only Antoine Walker (02-03) had a less efficient 20 ppg season.

I'd take him over T-Mac right now. He has no heart.

Re: If MJ comes back today......
I couldn't care less about Jordan at age 38.
Why should i care about him at age 45?

Re: If MJ comes back today......
I almost thought this thread was about a prime MJ in the league today...thankfully, I'm pretty confident Michael realises it simply wouldn't be wise to come back at 44.
About his days with the Wizards: sometimes it was painful to watch, but nobody else has played that well at that age. It will be interesting to see how the current crop of all star wings holds up with age.
