10 best players 6-4 to 6-6
Who were the best players between 6-4 and 6-6? This is generally the home of the two guards but players like Oscar, Frazier, Payton, and Kidd fit in as do bigger guys like Elgin Baylor, Charles Barkley, etc.
Looking for career value, not just peak. Using B-R as standard reference and adding 1" to the height of players measured in their socks . . . it changed around 1970-72 so lets say to players whose rookie year was before 1970 unless someone can pinpoint the date for me. 1. Michael Jordan 2. Oscar Robertson 3. Kobe Bryant 4. Walt Frazier 5. Elgin Baylor 6. John Havlicek 7. Gary Payton 8. Charles Barkley 9. Clyde Drexler 10. Sam Jones Jason Kidd Dwayne Wade Grant Hill Gus Johnson Paul Pierce Adrian Dantley ?

Re: 10 best players 6-4 to 6-6
Yeah Kobe is up there, he would be third maybe even second IMO.

Re: 10 best players 6-4 to 6-6
oops! editing now -- Kobe has to be top 3, probably even top 2 as I reevaluate given the extra ring, finals MVP, and longevity.

In no particular order..
Jason Kidd Gary Payton Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant Dwayne Wade Anfernee Hardaway Charles Barkley Oscar Robertson Walt Frazier I actually thought Drexler and Pierce were more towards 6'7 but I could be wrong.

IMO, a player is going to have to play a minimum of 10 seasons before being listed. My list is a subjective combination of longevity, high levels of performance and overall impact on the game:
1.) Michael Jordan 2.) Oscar Robertson 3.) Elgin Baylor 4.) John Havlicek 5.) Kobe Bryant 6.) Charles Barkley 7.) Walt Frazier 8.) Gary Payton 9.) Dave DeBusschere 10.) Adrian Dantley Other players of note include (in no particular order) Dennis Johnson, Sam Jones, Sidney Moncrief, Walter Davis, Jason Kidd and Bobby Dandridge.

1.) Michael Jordan
2.) Oscar Robertson 3.) Kobe Bryant 4.) John Havlicek 5.) Charles Barkley 6.) Elgin Baylor 7.) Jason Kidd 8.) Gary Payton 9.) Walt Frazier 10.) Pete Maravich Off the top of my head I would rank like this, but I'm sure I'm missing a lot of players like David Thompson. |
