Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
The starters are really even except for the mj factor. The bullet bench is just so much better, though.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
Agreed. I see the starters as really well matched, with Bird having a slight advantage and Jordan a bigger one. The Knicks bench really confuses me, though. Pierce was not a PG, DeBusschere was a PF rather than SG, and while Kiki could fill it up he has no shot at slowing either Bird or Hawkins. I really like Eaton in spot minutes in this league, but I'm not sure A.C. Green really belongs in this league.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
The Bullets, to me, look better at multiple styles of play... but the Knicks have the great one. Could Battier limit his effectiveness? Maybe. DeBusschere could also do work on Bird for stretches, though. It's hard to make a call without the strategies.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
It's worth noting that the Bullets have a rebounding advantage at every position but PG, and even though they are built to run they can space the floor with outside shooting. The Rodman/Unseld matchup also avoids some past arguments that the Bullets play 4 on 5 offensively. This one is close...as it should be. Jordan could fill it up, but remember that his team lost to the Celtics despite him dropping 63 on them back in the day.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
Honestly, I don't like voting against MJ here but I think the Bullets are a better constructed team.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
Besides the SG position, the Bullets seem to be better equiped to this kind of tournament than the Knicks.
Eventhough people are not putting up strategies anymore, i can see the Bullets starters play a more consistent team game, with a complete PG, a dynamic, athletic scorer in Thompson, Larry as the go-to guy and helping facilitate the offense. Rodman and Howard and better rebounders and defenders (wich should be their primary missions, eventhough i bet Howard will be spoonfed in the post by either Paul or Bird) than their respective contraparts. This starting 5 seems tight, although the guard defense is not very good. Michael Jordan is the best player in both teams, but if he is the go-to scorer (which he should be) what will Rick Barry be doing (not being literal, hope you get my point)? And the Knicks bench is a little strange, like other(s) have said. AC Green at PF (when guys like Oakley were around to pick) and Rickie Pierce at PG? I'm also not too crazy to see a frontcourt of a 6'7 PF and a 6'9 Center in this kind of competition.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
I don't know what that's about. Voting is still enabled in this thread.

Re: NLD: Washington Bullets vs. New York Knicks
Wow. We can't have a tie in this round! We'll have to start thinking about tie-breaker scenarios if the voting stays like this.
