Re: Western Conference Finals: #2 Oklahoma City Thunder (0) vs. #1 San Antonio Spurs (0)
Ballscientist comment:
1. Diaw/Leonard/Ginbili/Jackson to defend Durant 2. I Compare Westbrook to Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson. Parker scores 42 points against Thunder in Feburary. 3. Durant's wingspan 7'5", Leonard 3 point % 45.4% against Clippers. 4. Ginobili is better James Harden 5. Sefolosha don't learn how to penetrate. Durant 8, Leonard 5 Westbrook 8, Parker 7 Ibaka 5, Duncan 7 Sefolosha 4, Green 5 Perkins 5, Diaw 5 Subtotal: Thunder 30, Spurs 29 Bench: Thunder 14, Spurs 20 Coach: Thunder 6, Spurs 9 Total: Thunder 50, Spurs 58 Spurs in 6

Conventional wisdom had San Antonio, but conventional wisdom is seldom as wise as it's portrayed. I can't help but feel like some of the desire to pick SAS comes from things external to how they'll meet in a playoff series. Whether it's the titles SAS already has won, the fact that Duncan already has a hall of fame reputation, etc. I just don't feel you can be watching these teams right now and say to yourself "the "Spurs are a far better or even clearly better basketball team." The Thunder have the scoring punch, they have the defenders and they just don't play like a young basketball team. The only way they lose is foul trouble or consistently poor rotation on defense. If both teams play really good, OKC will take it in 6. |

I can't wait for this. Game 1 is really intriguing cos I have no idea which way this series will go.

Fancy the Spurs because they have a bit more depth and I think TP will come out on top against Westbrook.
Fancy the winner of this series to be the winner of the Finals as I think they both match up well against the East teams. |

How is Leonard going to be able to guard Durant all series long?

Thunder score the first 5 points and the Spurs respond with an 8-0 run.

Parker is going right at Westbrook.

Re: Western Conference Finals: #2 Oklahoma City Thunder (0) vs. #1 San Antonio Spurs (0)
Thunder rotating and recovering better than Utah or LA could. Spurs will need to adjust. Their 1st and 2nd options aren't going to work in their sets. OKC is too athletic. I like that OKC is pushing tempo.
