A couple of hours and a whole lot of adding.

Well done. I admit I've often criticized AI for shooting too much.

It's hardly surprising that the rest of the team isn't going to be in the flow of the game and able to do something with the ball when they're accustomed to not having it in their hands while AI is jacking up 30 shots.

But his teammates aren't accustomed to that considering out of the 610 career games he's had, he's only put up 30+ shots 81 times and has only averaged above 25 shots per game twice.

Re: Allen Iverson's shot attempts
Updated the original post to include assists to show that the more Iverson has the ball, the better the team does.

Re: Allen Iverson's shot attempts
The new part is interesting too.
You might want to consider looking at usage rate; it's supposed to be an approximation of how many posessions a player uses. The formula (from B-R.com) is:
40 * (Lg Pace / Tm Pace) * ((FGA + 0.44*FTA + 0.33*AST + TO) / MP).
It might be easier than looking at "more than 6 assists, more than 25 shots" etc.
I'm not sure where you're getting your data from so this might be too much of a hassle to calculate. B-R.com has usage rates for seasons, but if you're doing number crunching for individual games it might be a lot of work. Just a thought.
Regardless, fascinating stuff. I wonder if it applies to other stars?
EDIT: "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Ras again."

..he always has the ball, iverson is in the perfect situation for his game...he may not win as much w/ a whole team that differs to him on the court,, but it is the best situation for him--i wonder how well an iverson team would do in a team oriented offense(i.e. triangle), if he bought into it the system the team he is currently on wouldnt fair well enough to be title contenders or anything..cuz iverson wouldnt control the ball as much,, but it would be interesting if iverson didnt have so much pull in the offense--i dont think iverson will ever be on a championship team unfortunatley..b/c of the style he-and his team is foced to play..
