Re: Stats: Players without others
Thanks guys... I am not seeing where you got the numbers but I will go through the steps that were shown to me. It is interesting but the majority of the touches whe KG is off the floor goes to Wally so it makes sense.

1) Go to 82games.com player pairs section (I link to it in the original post) and find the section for Wade. Use the number of minutes he played with Shaq (given) and his per 40 minute numbers with Shaq (given) to calculate the total number of points, rebounds, assists, etc. that Wade had without Shaq.
For example, Wade played 1872 minutes with Shaq, and scored 22.1 pts/40 minutes with him. So to calculate his total pts with Shaq, you do (1872/40)*22.1
2) Subtract each of those with-Shaq totals (minutes, points, rebounds, etc.) from his complete season totals (which can be found at basketball-reference.com or many other places).
3) Use the minutes without Shaq found in step two and each of those without-Shaq totals to calculate his per40 numbers without Shaq.
For example, from step 2 you would have found that he played 1102 minutes without Shaq and scored 820 total points without Shaq. So to calculate his per40 points without Shaq, you would do (40/1102)*820.
I'll be happy to do Wally without KG for you when I have time though, if you don't feel like going through this.

Yeah, but what's strange is that Wally actually scores at a higher percentage without KG on the floor. That seems odd to me--you'd think with more defensive attention and offensive responsibility he would score more, but less efficiently. That's the pattern with Wade and Manu and it makes sense. I guess I've been underrating Wally as far as creating his own shot.

Well Wolves fans have been trying to make their claim that Wally is vastly underrated. As the 4th or 5th option on the Wolves squad last season, the guy managedd to be 2nd in scoring and shoot 50% from the field... But I willtry one and if you guys want check the work for me.

Re: Stats: Players without others
The site says the stats are per 48 minutes... not 40.

Re: Stats: Players without others
Well going on without the 48 minutes thing, I found that KG is less effective without Cassell, mostly for the reason that he actracted defenses and he played a lot with Cassell.
23.5533875 points per 40 minutes w/out Cassell
13.99 rebounds per 40 minutes w/o Cassell
5.607588 assists per 40 minutes w/o Cassell
1.32 blocks per 40 minutes w/o Cassell
A bad example.
I might try a Peja w/o Bibby. or Vice Versa.

Which site? 82games.com says: "Player 'Box Score' Stats per 40 minutes" in its player pairs pages.

Player Pairs/Tandem statistics
The following numbers represent the plus/minus per 48 minute stats while two specific players were on the floor together. The summary table is color coded with the green cells representing cases where the +/- numbers for the player in the far left column were better with that specific teammate than his overall +/- stats.
Please note that these numbers are in raw form and have not been adjusted for the other players in the five-man unit, nor for the opposing 5-man unit on the floor at the same time. We do have adjusted ratings available, as well as full details on the 2-man pairs (team eFG%, rebounding, turnover data, shot selection, etc) -- for more information contact us.

That is what it says when you click on your link and then on the timberwolves section. It is the text on the top.

Oh, I see the confusion. The per 48 minutes applies to the tandem +/- stats that they give in the very first small table at the top of each team's page.
The per 40 minutes applies to the "box score" stats like points, rebounds, etc. So we're okay.
