Re: Odd stats
From 1982-200 the league was leader in assists had 10+ apg (84-95 was 12+ apg), but since then we've only gone 2/5 in that stat. Nash currently has 10.6 per game.
So that wasn't really this season, but...I just found it and thought it was cool haha.

Re: Odd stats
Desagana Diop is averaging as many blocks per game as points per game right now. (2.4 PPG and 2.4 BLK). That's probably extremely common for big men who get in 1 or 2 minutes per game, but he's averaging about 18 MPG, and I thought that was pretty odd.

Re: Odd stats
That is quite odd.
Diop is hated on too much, in my opinion. If he develops into a better rebounder and continues to hang around in the paint for an offensive rebound or a tip in, he can be a very serviceable backup on a good team.

Did some research on this. Turns out that only three players have ever averaged at least 15 mpg while having more blocks than points.
George Johnson in 1981
Charles Jones in 1991
And Manute Bol in 6 different seasons.
So yes, its pretty odd. Nice find.

Re: Odd stats
Before the last game against lakers, KG was not the teams leading scorer for 4 consecutive games for the first time since the 99-00 season. He also has active streaks of 292 consecutive games played and 262 consecutive games with 10 or more points. Pretty odd to be that durable.

Re: Odd stats
Four of the five most recent opponents of the Boston Celtics (including Wednesday's matchup of the Indiana Pacers) previously played the Memphis Grizzlies the game before their game with Boston with the San Antonio Spurs being the only exception (that is Houston, New Orleans/Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Indiana).

Re: Odd stats
After hitting a three in the opening minutes of tonight's game against Seattle, Gilbert Arenas has made at least one three pointer in 50 consecutive games. That mark is the best active streak in the league, though he still has a ways to go to catch the all-time record of 89, held by Dana Barros.

Re: Odd stats
Good ol' Dana Barros. I remember him. You would expect guys like Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, or even Larry Bird to have a streak like that, not really Dana Barros.
