i hate to do stats related threads, but...
how the hell is okafor able to score below .400 (up to date his season average is .393!!!)
this has to be the most horrible shooting rate for a low post player. he's 6'10 has good bulk so he should be able to fight down low, no?
usually sophs tend to increase their shooting and shoot better than in their rookie season (okafor last season... .447 [which is not that good either for a post player])

Luke Jackson is a pure shooter with a average shot. Nothing much he can do.

luke jackson isn't an nba player, thats why those stats are like that. as to the topic, dunno why haven't caught the bobcats this year. next time they play the bricks i will focus on meka.

A more complex shooting statistic such as eFG% may explain the drop for sophmore perimeter players (as they may be shooting more three-pointers) but usually, post players do not have a change in shooting percentages (between FG% and eFG%) as they did not attempt threes. They obvious explanation is a "sophmore slump."

Re: i hate to do stats related threads, but...
I have watched the Bobcats this year.
The reason Emeka is shooting so badly is because he takes so many jumpshots, which he isn't very good at. He added a bunch of bulk over the offseason, and I think its soemwhat hindering his mobility at times, he needs to shave some of it off because he doesnt look nearly as agile or explosive as he did last season.
It doesnt help that hes getting hounded defensively worse than ever, but he just hasn't looked quite right. As soon as the defense starts to flood him, he tends to rush up shots at times. But it does look like he added a few nifty low post moves, though he rarely goes to them because hes either shooting jumpers, or because the team never spaces the floor well enough for him to operate on a defender. The team has no other real scoring threats anyway, and teams feel no consequence in leaving Kareem Rush or Primoz Brezec open.

in comparison to dejaun wagner, the kid is larry bird. i know its got to do with the knee injuries but his career has taken a major downturn. averaged 45ppg as a high school senior. was a lock for ROY half way thru season b4 he had "the 2nd half slump", and hasn't been seen since.
jackson is a jumpshooter with back injuries. altho jumpshooters are a dime a dozen, good jumpshooters generally have good longevity becoz they dont rely on physical skills which deteriorate with age.
