Arenas/Wade offensive efficiency

Can someone with a better understanding of TS% and efg% and point per shot do a statiscal analysis on who the better offensive player has been this year between Wade and Arenas also while taking into account tonights Heat/Wiz game. It'd be appreciated.

Re: Arenas/Wade offensive efficiency

Arenas

eFG%: .504
TS%: .566

Wade

eFG%: .472
TS%: .552

Points per shot is TS% doubled.

Shooting and scoring wise, they are having very comparable years, with Arenas having the slight edge.

(numbers did not take into account tonights game)

Re: Arenas/Wade offensive efficiency

Arenas is more efficient of a shooter and he attempts more jump shots (75% : 61%), a less efficient shot. This is because Arenas' jump shot is much more effective than Wade's (47.4% : 37.6%). The only reason why Wade and Arenas' eFG% is comparable is because Wade prefers the more efficient shot in attacking the hoop. I feel Arenas is the better scorer; both in explosiveness and in efficiency.

While Dwyane Wade may be the more cautious passer, he doesn't handle the ball as much as Gilbert Arenas. I feel they are both equal passers. Gilbert has a higher percentage of his close or dunk assists which I feel are a better measure of passing ability than just assists per game alone.

Wade is a much better rebounder (practically doubles Arena's rebound rate).

Re: Arenas/Wade offensive efficiency

Thanks for both your comments. I agree for the most part, Arenas would have a higher overall fg% if he simply attacked the hoop at the same rate Wade does, but Arenas does have a very good jumpshot so why not use it.
