Forgot about Ilgauskus.

I think they are 4 million under already, if they just renounce Eric William's bird rights. They could actually look for a player in the 4 million dollar range to trade away to match Boozer's contract.

This remark from a team official yesterday was typical: "There's a lot of work that has to be done yet, but it seems like we're going to make the effort to get it done -- to keep the three guys intact is our objective," the official said, referring to Martin, Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd.
The problem is that this best-case scenario is still based on moving Kerry Kittles' contract. There are deals being discussed with Cleveland and the Los Angeles Clippers, and the latter happened to lose its starting two-guard (Quentin Richardson) last week.

Clips are under the cap, so it's a way that the Nets could really save money by dealing Kittles. More than any deal with Cleveland.
Wilcox would be nice, cheap front court depth. Still a little raw at this point, though.

Krstic, Wilcox, Martin, Jefferson, and Kidd would easily be the most athletic lineup in the league. I think Wilcox would really thrive off of Kidd, and he has a great offensive arsenal in the post, which we sorely need.

If he is sent to the Clippers, I think we would also lose a pick (1st round) for them to absorb his contract. I doubt we could get Wilcox, but a 2nd round pick is more probable.

A team executive said the Nets have deals on or near the negotiating table regarding Kerry Kittles with the Clippers and the Cavaliers. Both deals were in a holding pattern last night as those teams attempt to resolve their issues. The Clippers are hoping to woo Kobe Bryant, which would render their need for Kittles moot. The Cavs -- who could send a pair of Jersey guys, Dajuan Wagner and Eric Williams -- are trying to sort out their Carlos Boozer fiasco.
The Nets are eager to move Kittles' $9.8 million salary and are hoping that because Kittles is in the final year of his deal, a team looking to clear cap space next summer would want him. Thorn declined comment.
"There's been too much speculation about Kerry already, and it's not fair to him," Thorn said. "So I'm not going to talk about what may or may not be happening there."...

The Cleveland deal (Williams, Wagner, Brown) would be better for the roster, but a Clippers deal where salaries don't need to match up would be better for Ratner's wallet.

Clippers trade Ely and House to Charlotte for draft picks, possibly making room for Kobe. Stay tuned...

I think we can forget about dealing him there, as they are making the full court press for Kobe.
