Zoran is biggest concern, and I'm sure he'll get most of the minutes at the point, so that is probably the reason for the lack of guards. The Nets need some depth at the 2, though.

No Christian Drejer, either. Does that mean he's out for 04-05 or will he show up for training camp?
As a tweener and coming out of college, the questions on Trepagnier were his shooting and ball-handling. His athleticism is unquestioned - nbadraft.net considered him the top run/jump athlete in the 2001 draft. It sounds like his all-around offensive game, such as decision-making, moving off the ball and passing, weren't so hot coming out of college either. He's not skill-less, but there's a reason he's trying out in a summer league, right? I guess we'll find out how much he's improved his skills in his 3 years as a pro.
The Nets could use a perimeter guy they can throw into a game off the bench who brings energy, athleticism and defense, but I was thinking more in terms of a SG/SF rather than a PG/SG. JT's a good rebounder, which helps. If he hasn't added enough skills after 3 years as a pro, especially given his supposed work ethic, then he probably won't ever.

The only thing we've heard is that Stefanski thinks they'll keep him in Spain, so I've been going by that unless we hear otherwise.

Both Solomon and Valters are interesting PG prospects.
KV's been considered a Euro sleeper for a few years - quick and a gifted passer.
Solomon is supposed to be an athletic scoring point who's a good shooter. 5'11.75" with a 6'9.5" ! wingspan. Career high scoring is 23 points against the Magic.

Yeah, not much to go on. Given that Stefanski said he was hopeful Drejer would be in the summer league, that he's not on the summer league roster would seem to indicate even less chance he's in this season's plans. I mean, in order for Drejer to join the team, they'd have to at least get a live-action look at him, right? So, if the Nets aren't getting that look, it seems settled he's staying with FC Barcelona.

Not necessarily. Krstic hasn't and won't play summer league. He's certainly a different story, but I don't think Drejer's contract will be big enough that they would be afraid to sign him before seeing him against NBA competition.

FC Barelona plays at a pretty high level. If he is able to do well for them for the whole season, I think he could be effective as the 8th or 9th man in 2005-2006.

Wow. That's a pretty boring roster. I was hoping we could get Herve on there, but we will still have the chance to sign him or Rice or Matthews if we want to.

Maybe they chose not to include Drejer because of the fact that the summer camp is played in Orlando, Florida. Drejer isnt exactly popular down there, maybe he will be in the training camp who knows. Its just a guess though

Good point. I'll hold out hope then that Drejer will still be added for this season. It's not like the Nets are so deep that Drejer wouldn't have at least the opportunity to earn playing time at the 1, 2 and 3.

Dejan Bodiroga is often billed as the best basketball player not in the NBA and the European Magic Johnson, both for his game and winning ways. I still think the Nets would be better served with Drejer on the team, but there are worse players for Drejer to understudy for a year.

Today's game is at 5:00 again against the Magic.
Zoran vs. Jameer Nelson
John Wallace vs. Dwight Howard
