I just hope Rodney doesn't go to another teams I like. I have suffered enough (all these years supporting Suns and Nets) to know that Rodeny will never lived up to his reputations.

The Nets got an unexpected gift when Rodney Rogers' agent, James Williams, flagrantly failed to execute his $3.355M extension in a timely manner. Rod Thorn had been offering to eat over half that salary to teams with room just to dump contract.

I am somehow a bit suspicious about those "forgotten" deadlines. What an agent has to do besides filling such documents for a player with such cold marketability as Rodney Rogers.
Conspiracy theorist inside me is contemplating a under table settlement here. It's either that or agents around NBA just can't do their job properly.
And concerning the (in)famous RODNEY ROGERS GAME, there's always possibility of creating a "Rodney Rogers is gone" thread... But off course there must be a reason for it. What is the story behind that first Rodney thread?

The story behind the game is in the first post of the game.

If Rogers knew the Nets were going to trade him rather than buy him out, that makes me think it's less likely Rogers' agent made a mistake.
Right now, Rogers has some value and leverage coming off an up-and-down 03-04 season with a key role on an elite team. Sounds like a calculated gamble to, if not secure a richer or multi-year contract, at least find a better situation where Rogers can raise his value for next season, rather than rely on Thorn, who is as likely to dump him into a situation where Rogers may end up with zero leverage after the season.
Veteran's minimum is, what, 1.4 mil per? So, worst case, Rogers loses 2 mil, which is much more than I'll see in my life-time earnings, but Rogers stands to make that much back and more if he can place himself in the right situation.

I think a buy-out was much more likely than a trade. Rodney has very little value at $3.4 million.

I'm just hoping that he's not eating Philly cheesesteaks next season.
