So you're handing Miami the title if they get Shaq, despite the fact that they'll have Shaq, Wade and Jones, and absolutely nothing else past that? You do realize Miami's starting lineup may have to include Dorrell Wright and Udonis Haslem, don't you? Wright will get eaten up if he has to play big minutes right away. Miami will be contenders, that's for sure, but you're handing them the title already? I recall a bunch of posters on this site handing the title to a certain team last offseason, and they didn't win the title. Shaq was also a part of that team...

If Shaq goes to Miami then they will have the same problem that everyone is saying Houston has right now. They are deficient at certain positions and to be title contenders they need to fill them. Miami is in Houston's exact ame situation right now and it is kind of refreshing.
Regarding the nets, I personally do not see them being on Detroit or Indiana's level if they lose Kenyon Martin. His style meshed with Richard Jefferson's and Jason Kidd's to create a very explosive running game. He was also the heart and fight of the team in a good way. It totally changes the team and unless they can find a replacement then I'm not sure how good the team could possibly be without him.

Only Moses Malone and Hakeem Olajuwon had done it with the Rockets, and the last time Olajuwon did it was Feb. 10, 1993.

If Martin leaves, they will be lucky to make the playoffs.

If the Nets retain Kenyon Martin, and the two teams met in the playoffs right now, the Nets would win. It's not even something I doubt, especially after the Pistons gave the blueprint to defend Shaq teams without many guys who can create their own shot. Dwyane Wade is a nice player, but Jason Kidd could be thrown on him.
People are counting the Nets out too quickly, if they keep Kenyon Martin, they'll be the at least the #3 team in the East until something drastic happens. People have been waiting for them to simply fall off the map ever since their first Finals run, and it hasn't happened yet.
