IMHO, the three worst teams in the East as of now are Atlanta, Charlotte, and New Jersey. The Nets should just build around RJ.

One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"

They'll make the playoffs because of the way they play. It doesn't matter who is better during the regular season, notice how Sac and Dallas have had higher seeds than San Antonio, L.A. and Minnesota in recent years, despite being worse than those three teams, because teams don't play defense as much during the regular season and they rack up a lot of wins.
It could be similar for the Nets because of their transition game. They might not have a lot of help around Kidd and Jefferson, but they don't need to have good players to make easy layups in transition. As long as they have guys who can run the floor, they'll be fine. Add in how Jefferson continues to improve, he's already a reliable go to guy in the half court offense. If they put the effort in, I see no reason why they can't be a 6-8 seed (unless Kidd leaves, then it's completely over).

Sorry but the Nets will not make the playoffs this season. They are better off trading Kidd for expiring contracts, picks and young talent. If they can get someone to take Mourning as well, do it.
This season (04-05) has officially become a wash for NJ.

I don't think the Nets should trade Kidd cause really Kidd is the Franchise. I agree with most of the people here that unless RJ has an mvp (20/10) season then there screwed. Also this team is nowhere near as bad as the magic from last year we have way more competent role players plus kidd and RJ. with kenyon and Kittles what do u guys think Jefferson's stats will be? 22/24pts 7rbs? being optimistic

Kidd-Jefferson and CBA players are probably still a playoff team in the East. Maybe.
