No way the Blazers are moving Telfair...they think that he is just special. Remember how they got so much crap (such as from the ESPN analysts on draft day) for taking him "way" too early.
The Blazers think he's going to be a good player...or at least are willing to gamble on him.
I am one Blazer fan that hopes this deal does not go down. Kidd's contract is just obscene...and I don't think Portland will make a run with him in the lineup. I would much prefer to dump some of our own money and focus more on obtaining a good young SG (C'mon Michael Redd...sign with the Blazers...heh).
I mean, at the end of the year SAR and Damon's large salaries are gone and that does provide some room to work with signing a large name player...(Redd)
I just would LOVE to see a lineup of Telfair/Redd/Miles/Randolph/Ratliff.
Can you imagine. You have the pass-first, penetrating PG, the high-flyin athletic SF, the sweetshooting SG, the 20/10 PF and our "force" inside.
Granted, I had my doubts about Ratliff considering he has had injuries in the past..but this last year really was a career year with the Blazers. He just went insane on D.
Anyways...THAT team has an excellent change at conteneding (especially in about 2 years) where as any team with Kidd on it is just going to roll downhill...squashed under the pressure of his huge contract.
