Latest Kidd Rumor

"In a three-way scenario shaped by the Minnesota Timberwolves' desire to land Kidd, the Knicks would send Thomas to the Nets and end up with Minnesota's Szczerbiak and New Jersey's Aaron Williams. The Nets also would land the Timberwolves' Sam Cassell and Ervin Johnson as compensation for shipping out Kidd, who is coming off knee surgery and has $90 million left on the $103 million contract he signed last summer. "

Is it me or is this about the stupidest thing the Wolves could do? Trade Wally, Cassell and Ervin for Kidd?!?!?! As a laker fan I dont mind if the Wolves want to make their team worse, thinner, and take a huge risk in Kidd, but am I the only one who thinks they could do better in trading Wally, should just keep Cassell because his injury risk at most = Kidd's, and keep Ervin because trading him makes them more reliant on Kandiman...which is not a good idea.

Im betting this is a bogus or dramatically incomplete rumor.

It is no doubt enticing for them but they are already to thin up front to lose Johnson. A healthy Kidd is a big upgrade over Cassell would make them deadly, but I wouldnt be willing to take that risk if I were the wolves. If it aint broke dont fix it.

Bad trade for Minnesota

I would not trade Cassell for Kidd straight up at this point.

Cassell was an All star last year and Kidd is coming off an injury and has a huge contract.

Then throw in Wally who still can come in a score some points for a team and Ervin who is a nice big man off the bench and the deal is terrible.

I honestly think that Minny doesnt need to make any moves. I think theyre a serious championship contender with the team they have now.

Don't forget that KG has been lobbying management to do all it can to get Karl Malone and if Malone does decides to play with the Wolves then they should be one of the faves to win it all.

I say keep the current team and either add a vet like Malone and some outside shooters to complement KG and the Wolves will be tough to beat.

Maybe the Knicks can trade Jerome Williams for Jesus too.

I'd rather have Cassell than Kidd. Cassell was better than Kidd last year, and though they've both been injured, I'll take my chances with Cassell. He can at least hit a jumpshot consistently. He fits the team better than Kidd would.

I'd rather have Kidd then Cassell (come on ppl come to your senses) but not with the cost of losing Sczcerbiak and Johnson..

Danny Fortson in reference to the anonymous Sonic who tattle taled to the Seattle-Times...

"I think somebody on this team might have girlish characteristics that need to be turned into a man. Because if we're going to win, we need warriors. We don't need girls. Girls are for the dance team."

Fortson also said "he wouldn't doubt it" if there were a gay player in the NBA but hopes he's not a Sonic.

"That would be a bad deal," Fortson said. "He might want to keep that one in the closet."
