Davis Is Final Cut
Quote:

Kyle Davis, the rookie center from Auburn, became the final roster cut yesterday. That means Awvee Storey and Jabari Smith made the team, though both will probably be stashed on the injured list when the season opens.

Well, Kidd will definitely start the year on the IL, but Aaron Williams, Eric Williams, Vaughn and Mercer all sat out with injuries last night, so I'm not sure it will definitely be Smith and Storey who don't start on the active roster. If so, though, the roster would look like this:
Active:
PG: Planinic, Vaughn, Best
SG: Mercer, Buford
SF: Jefferson
PF: E. Williams, Scalabrine
C: Collins, Mourning, A. Williams, Krstic
Injured:
PG: Kidd
SF: Storey
PF/C: Smith
I believe Collins was used at the 4 last night, and of course, E. Williams and Scalabrine are more fitted for the 3.

Been a while...!!!
Whoa, I've been away for a longtime and this is basically the first look I have of the current roster. I was soooo ticked off with what was done in the offseason that I just came into this season with a bad taste in my mouth...but now that baseball is over, I need something to fill my week between sundays (football) so I'll give the Nets another shot...at least until they actually move to Brooklyn...ouch, that really hurts to say!
SCHUB!!! I'm back...How the hell are ya?!?

Eddie! Welcome back. Getting any sleep?
Roster looks pretty weird, but Mercer and Buford have both shown some life (Kittles is hurt btw), and if Mourning can produce, and Kidd changes his attitude, things could be a lot worse. Still a big hole at the PF spot, but Collins could move over with Mourning in the line-up.
A lot of "ifs", but the division is pretty weak. Should be an interesting year.

Yep. Rice and Damone Brown were cut on Wednesday. Rice was brought in as a shooter, but he shot just 29% in the preseason, and was apparently a serious defensive liability.

Hey I thought Kittles got traded?
But, no, there is't much sleep in my future, and all I can say is: take advantage of the sleep you are getting now...it's precious!
Anyway, Why can't Mourning just play a little time in the PF spot. I heard that they signed Collins to a contract extension, how many years? I hope there was a clause in his contract that he better "toughen up", because he is SOFT!!!
Now, I don't get why they didn't just hold onto that kid Griffin, he costs nothing and had tremendous upside. Now he's playing for The 'Wolves and I can tell you, I foresee a coming out year for him...

He did, but he had knee surgery, and apparently the Nets knew about his knee when they were shopping him, so that move doesn't look as bad as it once did.
Storey, Smith, Kidd start season on IL:
