Our announcer got a good look at it and said his hand looked pretty bad and that Planinic seemed to be in a ton of pain. Didn't realize it was that messed up though.

He is pretty good, should get a bit more court time though with Kidd not playing.

Planinic 6-8 weeks
That totally sucks. Thank Kidd that Nenad's injury doesn't look to be serious. Watching the young players develop is what you have to look forward to after your team gets dismantled before your eyes.

Looks like 6-8 weeks, which means mid-late January.
I'm glad Curly will be alright, though.

Damn...but atleast kidd will be back soon...and best is showing he can play some.
I guess we could play a Kidd/Best backcourt sometimes against smaller teams...or more minutes for rodney "never met a shot he didn't like" buford

Nets G Planinic undergoes hand surgery
Quote:
New Jersey Nets point guard Zoran Planinic will be sidelined indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his left hand Thursday.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Charles Melone at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan. The procedure involved the insertion of three pins in the fifth metacarpal bone.
Planinic will have the pins removed in four to six weeks, then begin rehabilitation. There is not timetable for his return.

This sucks, man. Watching Zoran play has been the highlight of Net games this year for me.
Hopefully, he's back in time to give us a late season scoring boost.

Coach Lawrence Frank indicated that guard Zoran Planinic, who had three pins inserted in his broken left hand Thursday, would most likely be out 8 to 10 weeks.
