Game 18: Nets @ Cavs--12.07.04

New Jersey Nets (5-12) at Cleveland Cavaliers (11-6)
Tuesday, 12.07.2004, 7:00 PM EST
Gund Arena - Cleveland, OH
TV: YES, FSOhio, NBALP
NetsDaily Preview
The Nets travel to Cleveland Tuesday to take on the first-place Cavaliers. Cleveland is led 2nd-year start LeBron James, who is averaging 25.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 6.5 assists 2.4 steals per game. The James/Richard Jefferson matchup should be exciting to watch, but all eyes may be on Jason Kidd, who plays in his second game since coming back from knee surgery.

We ususally have problems with Big Z, but hopefully Zo can help with that.
Its going to be a hard game, but hopefully we can pull it out. Then we'd be what, like 2 1/2 games out of first in the divison?

If the Knicks lose, yes.
Time for RJ to put this James kid in his place.

This'll be the 1st game this year I'll watch. Nets beat Tor. So they may not stink as bad as I thought. I'll wanna see how they fare against King James.
Isn't Kidd coming back tonite??

Little run by the Cavs at the end of the half to put them up 9.
Mourning had a good half. Kidd has only played 9 minutes so far (6,2,2), and Krstic has only played 3.
15 assists on 17 FGs for the Nets. Nice to see.
Rebounds: Cavs 22 (7 off), Nets 9 (1 off)
Ilgauskas kills the Nets.

The substitutions in the first half were bizarre. Some of the bench players were in but not long enough to get going, notably Krstic and Train. And Buford getting time at the 3 with two point guards in the game??? I don't get it.

Haven't watched it yet. Sounds like those 3 straight possessions where Mourning couldn't score over Ilgauskas really killed the Nets down the stretch. Nets had a chance to take the lead on the first of those, and then went down 4.
Might have to watch the Nenad dunk before I go to bed.

I sat 3 rows in front of Rod Thorn
and I promise you that Zo will be traded soon after the verball onslaught I gave him...
he didn't talk to me, but i talked to him
basically i told him to "FREE ZO!" and let him play for a contender...he owes it to Zo instead of locking him up in NJ with the team he ripped apart.
He just looked at me and didnt respond...

I'd part with Zo for a bag of peanuts or even Ruben Patterson at this point.

u guys are hilarious...
hes by far your 3rd best player
he dominated the 1st 3 quarters, and played rough in the 4th quarter....
he's your ONLY post option, so if your management plans on keeping him, get used to 12-15 shots a night from Zo
