That is a great point. If it was Miles or Griffin, they would be talking about how much upside they have. But Jefferson is only a year older than them as they are about to be 21 and he just turned 22.

Those are future star numbers. Only 1 year of NBA experience and 33 MPG puttin' up those numbers. Definitely a future All-Star.

If you feel those are star numbers then your expectations are too low

He said 'future' star numbers, with that means Jefferson has a good chance to be a real star 'in the future' if he can put up those numbers the whole season. I actually think RJ is very similar to what Michael Finely was in Phoenix. Both of them are great slashers and inconsistent mid-range jump-shooters but show, occasionally, have all the offensive moves to become a great scorer if they can put it together consistently, like Finley's doing right now. Both also are hard-workers and have the will to win. RJ is a better defender though.

Eddie Griffin is really floundering? So much for not being right so far on Richard Jefferson. Go RJ go.

Yeah, after the trade and during RJ's first year, they were saying maybe RJ was tradable straight up with Griffin. I don't think the Nets would even trade Collins for Griffin now!!
As for RJ, his stars keep rising. Two straight final trips, a starting berth, a Nike contract, a chance to play for Team USA and more to be expected this season.

Your absolutely right Aurelino. He is looking to expand on his previous years. It is good to be able to go back and see what was wrote about these guys.

I won't trade RJ for Griffen, but I would trade Collins for Griffen. Collins is talented, and we did have a surplus of center talent, although... Griffen has more potential, and more skills. There are alot of similar guys to Collins out there including his own twin brother Jarod Collins.

The day Jefferson has a consistent outside shot will be the day he is an all star. He ain't gonna average 18-20 PPG either.

Yeah, I think I did exaggerate, for effect. We could trade Collins for Griffin. There's the attitude thing as well that we would have to handle.

Winning breeds good attitude, if we are winning and he is here, I'm sure he would have alot better attitude.

I wouldn't give up on Griffin yet. I think being on the Rockets with their losing attitude, lack of veteran leadership and permissive (under Rudy T.) coaching is detrimental to a young player's development. I believe that on a different team under good leadership during his formative years, Griffin would be a different player.
I haven't been impressed with what I've seen of his play, but I keep hearing how talented he's supposed to be. I wouldn't trade either RJ or Twin for him right now, as both are more productive than Griffin. If possible, I'd wait to see how well Krstic works out to judge how expendable Twin will be.
