More deals in the works

Sources close to the team say the Nets have a couple of minor deals in the works, but nothing has been completed.

Need size now. Not sure what the Nets can deal, unless it's Planinic or more picks.

I'm interested to see what these other deals are. I don't really want to give up Zoran, I think he could be a great backup for us....
If we send Buford, Vaughn or Mercer (or a package of them) for someone...There is Best too, but I think he's the best out of those guys...I have no idea who would want that, but who knows.
We still have our picks and the clippers picks (one from Denver, and the one from trading Kerry)....we should be able to get something.

Trade exceptions too. I wouldn't want to give up Zoran or Best, either, but I don't see how Buford, Vaughn or Mercer are tradeable.
Wouldn't have to give up anything for the Mailman.

My thoughts exactly. If malone decides to come back, it's either going to be new jersey or miami imo. With haslem playing as well as he has been, and trades in the works with toronto for donyell marshall, it looks as though he isn't headed to miami. Maybe the spurs, but other than that new jersey must be looking pretty good for malone.
Another option would be Kenny Thomas who hasn't been doing much in philly, and would probably be up for grabs for some cap relief.

I know that buford/vaughn/mercer aren't going to get much, but wishful thinking never hurt.
Malone would be nice, but I's say that is a long long shot at best...from what I heard, for him its pretty much Spurs or nothing (although, a lot of things have been said, and this is a different team now, so who knows)

Yeah, I think the Nets' appeal just went up.
Jerome Moiso was waived by Toronto to make room for the new guys. Could be worth a flier. He's 6'-10".

Malone would have to be interested in playing with vince carter/richard jefferson/jason kidd. and if he wins a championship it won't be like he just walked into it. he'll actually be a reason for them winning, which isn't the case with the spurs

Thats true...I've always liked his game, and it seems like he's fallen out of favor with the sixers. I don't know what his contract is like, but maybe something can be done.

He had a really good game (or maybe a few games) in the playoffs with the Hornets. I don't know how he is otherwise

Moiso would be okay if you can't get anything else. He's nothing special, but he could do an alright job playing 20-25 mpg.
Thomas' contract is really really ugly. he's locked in till 2009/2010 for around 6 million per year i think. That's why you'd have a chance of picking him up

yeah, I didn't realize he would cost as much as he does. He's not worth it.

Najera is apparently unhappy in Golden State. He has a 4-year deal at about $4.4M per year. A little undersized at the PF spot, but he could provide some decent depth.
