Jason Kidd...Is it his injury?

Jason Kidd seems to be a shell of his former self. I don't watch the Nets that much, but from just reading the box scores, this is what I gather. So I am asking the Nets fans here, as well as everyone else, whats wrong with Jason Kidd? Is it the injury? If so, is this something that is permanent, or will he regain the form he was once in? If thats not it, what is?

i dont watch many nets games either, but Kidd has always been one of those type of players where the stats dont tell the whole story

But his stats are usually much better than this. Watching them in limited action, he seems to be really slow to me, no burst left. I surely hope he's still recovering from the injury.

This is not the type of surgery that people recover quickly from. To give you an idea: Chris Webber, Allan Houston, and Penny Hardaway all had the same surgery, and none of them really ever regained the same form. (CWebb is playing pretty well, but he was pretty bad when he first came back, and even now he lacks the explosiveness he had before the injury.)

I believe the difference between Kidd's surgery and the other ones named is that what Kidd had worked on was not connected to the bone.

Kidd is obviously not himself right now, but the stats don't tell the story. The last few games he has shown that he still has the speed on the fast break and it even seems like he has become a better shooter. I'd say 2-4 weeks and you'll be seeing the same ol' Jason Kidd.
