Best Mock Drafts?
the scorecard last year was pretty close...based on how many first round picks were called accurately.
None of the mocks had a record of accuracy better than 27% and the differences among the top three were small.
--8 correct picks for chad ford
--7 correct picks for nbadraft
--6 correct picks for about.com
--5 correct picks for draftcity
--3 correct picks for hoopshype
--3 correct picks for nbadraft report.

Re: Best Mock Drafts?
So the odds of any of them listing the player we will get are pretty slim.

NBADraft.net is not bad, they hit it on the head when they said we would draft KMart, and Zoran.

Re: Best Mock Drafts?
EVERYONE knew that the Nets were taking Zoran. As Chad Ford said that year, there is nothing certain in the draft but the closest thing to certainty is the Nets taking Planinic. He pointed out that Planinic's agent claimed that Planinic had hurt his hip in the Net workout and couldn't work out for other teams.
[I am prepared to believe that Ford has a source inside the Nets organization--he broke the story of the Carter trade, knew a lot of details about the Nets interest in Planinic early.]

Rundmc has his minions working on it. I have to think run is a short-seller based on the players he likes.

Re: Best Mock Drafts?
how can anybody really predict the draft correct. I bet at least half the teams right now aren't even sure who they want to pick... Plus, they don't even know who will be available and when.
Plus a draft day trade could effect a lot of teams in a ripple effect.
In the end, predicting the draft this early is basically impossible. About one to two days before the draft nbadraft, hoopsworld, and such have pretty good mocks...anything before is vague speculation.

Re: Best Mock Drafts?
Good question would be what mock draft has picked the Nets correctly most often. It is possible that a mock might have a good feel or even inside info about a team. For instance buddy of mine and myself get together for NFL draft we have picked about 50% of the total picks the last two years.

Of the five first round picks in the Thorn era, everyone thought Martin would go No. 1 in 2000 and everyone thought Planinic would be taken by the Nets in 2003. Everyone also knew the pick was being sold last year. That leaves 2001 and 2002. NO ONE predicted either.

no in 2001 we were expected to get that guy... but we weren't supposed to trade him! The trade was the big shocker!
(sorry but forgot guy's name... was a failure in NBA cuz of alcohol)

Griffen? We weren't expected to get him, in fact alot of mocks predicted he would be the 1st overall player taken.
