Collins and the article...
Hey what do you guys think about the Collins article on NetsDaily. Well I guess it was an article on defense and stats but Collins is mentioned significantly.
He has the best defensive +/- in the league.

It will be interesting to see next year when they have more accurate per player stats. I really liked the book Moneyball, and it would be interesting to see if any of the theories can/will translate to basketball. I have always felt that PPG is valued way to highly, and PPS (points per shot) is much more important.

It's a bogus stat. A high defensive +/- can just mean you have bad defensive players coming off the bench. Considering that in the early part of the year Jabari was coming off the bench behind Collins those numbers don't surprise me.

A stronger frontline off the bench would likely cut Twin's numbers down a bit, but the fact that he was #1 in the NBA by such a large margin is a testament to the fact that he is an excellent defender and he is very important to the success of the Nets.

that stat also depends on alot of other x factors!

I think Schub is right. It's not the most accurate of stats, but it still means something.
